Volorn is a large white hound weighing in at 140 lbs. He is intelligent and resourceful. He was born in the countryside west of Li'elm.

Volorn and Sjer Mihan have formed an attachment. Volorn is Sjer's familiar. Or, more correctly, Sjer is Volorn's Catalyst.

Volorn is gifted by Chal with the power of healing. When he and Sjer are together and rested, they can heal the sick and wounded through the grace of Chal.

From the far history of TheMilar there have been Chosen ones who act as catalysts of change. This has been true since before the coming of the Prophet IlamSilaj.

Each familiar brought into being by Chal has a mission. Some, if they are effective are given multiple missions. Each one is also allowed to choose a human to act as a catalyst for them. This human is called a Chosen. If an animal is at the top of its game, the catalyst does not know what he/she is accomplishing. Sometimes, when a pair learns to work exceedingly well together, and the familiar deems the catalyst worthy, the two become partners and the catalyst is blessed with the knowledge of Chal's intentions and becomes an active partner.
